Biography
Sister Catherine Aloyse was born Blanche Patricia on March 17, 1914. She died on March 22, 2005. She was 81 years old and had been a Sister of Providence for 69 years.
Sister Catherine Aloyse entered the Congregation on July 16, 1935. She professed first vows on Jan. 23, 1938, and final vows on Aug. 15, 1943.
Sister Catherine Aloyse ministered as a grade school teacher in schools in Indiana, Illinois and Maryland. One of her favorite ministries was at St. Mary in Lafayette, Ind., where she taught second grade. In 2003, a letter came to the Woods from the school paying tribute to the Sisters of Providence, especially pointing out Sister Catherine Aloyse. She returned to the Woods in 1984 and ministered as a volunteer.
Sister Catherine Aloyse was credited for helping complete her family tree, a complete line from 1066 to 1999.
