Biography
Sister Catherine Alberta was born Veronica Elizabeth Kunkler on June 28, 1922. She died on Sept. 1, 2009. She was 87 years old and had been a Sister of Providence for 68 years.
Sister Catherine Alberta entered the Congregation on Jan. 5, 1941. She professed first and final vows on Aug. 15, 1943 and 1949, respectively.
Sister Catherine Alberta ministered at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods for 55 years in Providence kitchen, the Infirmary kitchen, the chaplains’ residence and as head housekeeper at LeFer Hall. She also ministered as a cook in New Hampshire and as director of food services at Fatima Retreat House in Indianapolis.
