Biography
Sister Ann Michael was born on April 17, 1918. She died on Dec. 21, 2004. She was 85 years old and had been a Sister of Providence for 67 years.
Sister Ann Michael entered the Congregation on Jan. 11, 1936. She professed first and final vows on Aug. 15, 1938 and 1944, respectively.
Her teaching ministry began in 1938 at Sacred Hearts, Malden, Mass. She ministered at other schools in Indiana and Illinois. She also ministered as principal at St. Joseph, Hawthorne, Calif. From 1969 to 1976, she ministered as the Congregation’s mission coordinator, and from 1979 to 1990, she served as a parish minister at St. Angela Merici Parish, Brea, Calif. She returned home to the woods in 1999.
Sister Ann was affectionately called “Gentle Annie.”
