Biography
Sister Ann Lucille was born Lucille Helen Mortell on Oct. 21, 1912. She died on March 12, 2006. She was 93 years old and had been a Sister of Providence for 77 years.
Sister Ann Lucille entered the Congregation on Feb. 13, 1929. She professed first vows on Aug. 15, 1931, and final vows on Jan. 23, 1937.
She began her teaching ministry in 1931 at St. Patrick, Stoneham, Mass. She ministered at other schools in Massachusetts, as well as Indiana and Illinois. From 1963 until retiring from teaching in 1993, she ministered at St. Angela, Chicago. She returned home to the Woods in 2002.
Sister Ann Lucille had a devotion to the City of Chicago because it was where she was born.
