Sister Ann Bernard Sullivan

Biography

Sister Ann Bernard was born Mabel Agnes Sullivan on Sept. 24, 1918. She died on April 29, 2006. She was 87 years old and had been a Sister of Providence for 70 years.

Sister Ann Bernard entered the Congregation on Feb. 2, 1936. She professed first vows on Aug. 15, 1938, and final vows on Jan. 23, 1944.

Her teaching ministry began in 1938 at St. Rose, Chelsea, Massachusetts. She also taught at schools in Illinois and Indiana. In 1966, she began a new ministry in business accounts at Our Lady of Providence High School, Clarksville, Indiana, and from 1971 to 1977, she ministered in the business office at Providence Retirement Home in New Albany, Indiana. She returned to the Woods in 1987 to serve as business manager at Woods Day Care/Pre-School, retiring in 1993.

She was known to have great devotion to Our Lady and the rosary.
