Biography
Sister Angela was born Augusta Garlat on Aug. 26, 1908. She died on Aug. 5, 2005. She was 96 years old and had been a Sister of Providence for 77 years.
Sister Angela entered the Congregation on Sept. 14, 1927. She professed first vows on Feb. 26, 1930, and final vows on Feb. 23, 1935.
Sister Angela began her ministry in teaching in 1929 at St. Margaret Mary, Terre Haute, Ind. She taught in other classrooms in Indiana, as well as schools in Illinois. She retired in 1994 and returned to the Woods.
Sister Angela enjoyed the small things in life, such as photos, songs, stories, ideas and her Irish setter, Casey.
