Biography
Sister Alice Louise was born on Aug. 3, 1924. She died on March 8, 2012. She was 87 years old and had been a Sister of Providence for 69 years.
Sister Alice Louise entered the Congregation on Feb. 2, 1943. She professed first vows on Aug. 15, 1945, and final vows on Aug. 25, 1950.
Her teaching ministry began at St. Ann, Terre Haute, in 1945. She also taught at other schools in Indiana, as well as schools in Illinois. In 1975, she studied Clinical Pastoral Education and began a ministry as a hospital chaplain at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center.
In 2007, she received the James Ewing Layman’s Award from the Society of Surgical Oncology.
