Biography
Sister Alice Clare was born Mary Alice Kuper on April 9, 1919. She died on Sept. 30, 2006. She was 87 years old and had been a Sister of Providence for 70 years.
Sister Alice Clare entered the Congregation on Jan. 11, 1936. She professed first and final vows on Aug. 15, 1938 and 1944, respectively.
Sister Alice Clare ministered as a teacher, starting in 1938 at Holy Trinity, New Albany, Ind. She taught in other classrooms in Indiana as well as other schools in Illinois, Missouri and Massachusetts. She returned to the Woods in 1975 and continued to minister in various capacities.
Sister Alice Clare enjoyed taking care of the inner patio of Providence Hall.
