Biography
Sister Adele was born Mary Ida Mann on Sept. 9, 1926. She died on Jan. 4, 2010. She was 83 years old and had been a Sister of Providence for 63 years.
Sister Adele entered the Congregation on Feb. 2, 1946. She professed first and final vows on Aug. 15, 1948 and 1953, respectively.
She began her teaching ministry in 1948 at St. Andrew, Chicago. Sister Adele also taught in classrooms in North Carolina and Indiana. She also served as a pastoral associate at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center, while also ministering as chaplain at St. Joseph Hospital and Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, Ind., for 20 years. She returned to the Woods in 2008.
Sister Adele enjoyed dancing and spending time with others in the Red Hat Society.
