Water Poem
The day God created me I could not get her to stop jumping up and down with ecstatic glee. My gifts were positively kaleidoscopic. I had a myriad of awesome credentials for ministry. I could cleanse and heal, warm and cool, quench thirst and put out fires. I might calm a stressed spirit and kindle a spark of wonder in a human eye. I could be home, shelter and life giver.
With great delight I will ripple and flow, run and jump over heights. A beautiful cascading waterfall I could be. Soft snow covering Earth or hard ice that would make trees dazzle in the bright sun are specialties. I’ll be rain helping the flowers and gifts of Earth to grow. With the help of Brother Sun I’ll be dew diamonds in the morning grass.
So as not to take myself too seriously, I could be seven on the enneagram. Sometimes I would just evaporate into thin air. I would have a sense of humor and it definitely would not be dry.
I might be an ENFP on the Myers Briggs. Good thing since I will be highly sought after. I will make a great team player with sun and moon, wind and Earth for starters. However, to balance my introvert side, I may need on occasion to hang out with an island.
After all this I had a profound insight. Humbly, I said to God, “I could protect new life in a mother’s womb.” At this point, God became silent with awe at what she had made. Then God said, “Water, you are such an amazing cause for wonder and celebration, it is with you I will baptize my people.”
