Prayer for the sale of a home

This place, this home, this haven
has seen so much of tears and joy.
We made memories in these walls
that we will carry in our hearts always.

But now it is time to move on.
Our family needs something new.
Before we can take that next step,
we need to sell our home.

I pray that someone will want this place
as urgently as we once did, that they
will give our home the love it needs
to grow new memories within.

May the right buyer find us.
When they do, open their eyes
to the possibilities that lie behind
the wear and tear of our lives:
the paint we picked out for our new son,
the floors we danced on,
the kitchen that fed us.

Guide us — seller and buyer both —
through this change
with open and eager hearts.
