Prayer

Prayer for healing from family/generational trauma

The hurt sinks deep.
It flows from father to son, mother to daughter.
It eats away at us like poison.

How can we stop this cycle?
How can we fix what has been broken for ages?

All we can do is remember: With God all things are possible,
even the mending of a broken home.

What started can stop. What seems to be destiny can be altered.
We don’t have to act out the same tragedy, year after year,
generation after generation.

God, in your mercy, show us how to break the chain.
Change our way forward. Grant us grace toward one another.
If our family can still be whole, please make it so.

hurtAmen.
