Litany of Our Lady of Providence

A litany is a well-known form of prayer consisting of a series of petitions with a response that is the same for all petitions or for several in succession.

Litany of Our Lady of Providence

Our Lady of Providence, woman of response,
pray for us.

Our Lady of Providence, whose continuing “yes” fed your life of faith,
pray for us.

Our Lady of Providence, available to God’s power in your regard,
pray for us.

Our Lady of Providence, woman of relationship,
pray for us.

Our Lady of Providence, who surrendered to what God asked of you,
pray for us.

Our Lady of Providence, whose openness to others shaped and formed you,
pray for us.

Our Lady of Providence, woman of reflection,
pray for us.

Our Lady of Providence, who valued times of quiet and prayer,
pray for us.

Our Lady of Providence, whose pondering probed the depths of confusion,
pray for us.

Our Lady of Providence, woman of reverence,
pray for us.

Our Lady of Providence, who valued all forms of life,
pray for us.

Our Lady of Providence, who treasured interdependence as gift,
pray for us.

Our Lady of Providence, woman of reality,
pray for us.

Our Lady of Providence, whose parenting formed the Savior Son mid ordinary days,
pray for us.

Our Lady of Providence, whose queenly dignity raises all women to fullness of life,
pray for us.

O Creator God, whose ever watchful Providence enfolds all creation, we humbly ask you through the prayer of Our Lady of Providence, Queen of the Home, to remove from our midst whatever is harmful and to bestow on us only that which will be helpful. We ask this through your son, Jesus the Christ, who is with you and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

The Litany of Our Lady of Providence is offered free to visitors at the National Shrine of Our Lady of Providence.
