Daily Prayer
The following prayer is by Sister Rosemary Nudd. Although it was originally intended to be given to middle school students who visit Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, the words are inspiring for all.
God whose name is Providence, God whose name is Love,
You have created each of us with special loving care. Remembering that we are connected to every bit of this boundless and beautiful universe, we turn to you with all our hearts and pray:
Show us the path, teach us the way.
Dear God, our Creator,
You made all creatures who fly in the air, swim in the sea, and walk upon the land, asking us to take care of them.
Because we want to be good caretakers of your gifts to us, we pray:
Show us the path, teach us the way.
Dear Jesus, our Brother,
You came among us as a human being, reaching out to all people, and caring for each one,
Because we want to follow you as we walk our life’s journey, we pray:
Show us the path, teach us the way.
Dear Holy Spirit, our Helper.
You give us your gentle power to think, choose, and act in ways that care for all creation.
Because we want to use that power for Earth and for one another, we pray:
Show us the path, teach us the way.
God whose name is Providence, God whose name is Love, You hold each of us close and care for us every day of our lives.
Because we want to thank you by living in harmony with everyone and everything, we pray:
Show us the path, teach us the way,
Help us to share your love today.
Amen
