Teresa asks, “I ask God and your kindness to accept me into the novitiate of the Sisters of Providence to learn the charism of this community from God: love, mercy and justice, to be a true daughter of Saint Mother Theodore, to glorify our God in the world and become God’s merciful witness.”

It’s at the novitiate stage that a woman in formation adds “Sister” before her name. Sister Dawn blesses with holy water a plain, white and silver cross, and presents it to Sister Teresa Kang.
