Sister Teresa Kang enters the Novitiate

Sister Teresa (Hwei-Ru) Kang enters the Novitiate at a special ceremony held in the Church of the Immaculate Conception on Aug. 4, 2018. Enjoy these photos of this event and share them with family, friends and even a woman or two who may be considering religious life.

Teresa asks, “I ask God and your kindness to accept me into the novitiate of the Sisters of Providence to learn the charism of this community from God: love, mercy and justice, to be a true daughter of Saint Mother Theodore, to glorify our God in the world and become God’s merciful witness.”

It’s at the novitiate stage that a woman in formation adds “Sister” before her name. Sister Dawn blesses with holy water a plain, white and silver cross, and presents it to Sister Teresa Kang.

The celebration of Teresa’s entrance into the Novitiate was such a joyful occasion for all of us. So much hope is present as each new member takes her place among. Thanks be to God and Teresa!
