The Sisters of Providence of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods are a community of vowed Catholic women religious. Inspired by our foundress Saint Mother Theodore Guerin, we are passionate about our lives of prayer, education, service and advocacy.
Live joyfully! Single, Catholic women ages 18-42 are invited to explore a fulfilling life as a Sister of Providence. All women and men of faith are invited to join the family of Providence as Providence Associates.
2009: Sister Barbara Doherty, who conceived the idea and was the driving force behind the Saint Mother Theodore Guerin Fest 2009, is presented with flowers in gratitude for her efforts. The presentation was made by Sister Susan Paweski, who portrayed Saint Mother Theodore Sunday.

Sister Jan Craven presented the workshop, “Saint Mother Theodore Guerin 101: Introduction to her Life and Legacy,” on Oct. 22, 2011, in Reilly Auditorium (Owens Hall) as part of the Fest. Sister Jan is the coordinator of the Saint Mother Theodore Guerin Shrine and was chairperson of the 2011 Fest Committee.
Sister Sue Paweski and Sister Hannah Corbin captured the attention of Fest attendees on Oct. 22, 2011, as they portayed Saint Mother Theodore Guerin and Sister St. Francis Xavier Le Fer de la Motte, respectively. Their dramatic (and humorous) presentation, conducted in the Providence Hall Community Room, was part of the Fest. Both received a standing ovation for the performance.
