Saying yes to poverty, chastity and obedience

Published on September 1, 2020

…I also entered with my metaphorical baggage of fears, anxieties, ignorance, blind spots and unhealed wounds. Within a loving community I was held, supported and challenged by my community and equipped with the tools of self-reflection, a thirst for knowledge and a desire to grow. Thus I began the deep exploration of religious life, communal living, and my inner life in God — the Source of All Being.  Within a loving, supportive community — that also provided me with many…

Reflections for Foundation Day 2021

Published on October 29, 2021

It also seems to me that a Chapter is a foundational moment — an opportunity to cooperate with our Provident God in making plans for our welfare, as Jeremiah reminds us in the first reading today, in order…

Reflecting on Leadership

…national election process and in leadership opportunities for women that religious life has provided. As Sister Suzanne mentioned, there is no advertising, no campaigns, but a prayerful, reflective type of atmosphere that engages our entire religious community in our Chapter and election process. In our community, this is not a competitive venture to prove oneself the best candidate. Rather, nominees come with an open heart to look at the leadership gifts the whole community has deemed necessary for the next…

Novena to Saint Mother Theodore Guerin

…not beyond Providence’s concern for me. (Mention your need or concern.) Saint Theodora, you feared what would become of you, and your little community, during those violent storms at sea in 1840.
