Published on October 19, 2011

…some future period, or under circumstances which will never be offered to us. Let us not allow ourselves to be caught by this father of lies. Obedience is the best preparation that you can bring to Holy Communion.” (“Journals and Letters,” pages 357-358)…

I found the information in the capacious first volume of the Congregation’s history written by Sister Mary Borromeo Brown. Published on March 6, 2013

I love the annual NCAA College Basketball Tournament, affectionately marketed as “March Madness.” Like many fans I rip out the page from the newspaper that has the teams in their brackets and begin to pick my winners. My best case scenario has North Carolina, my graduate school alma mater, going to the Final Four. But I must admit I also have a huge penchant for the underdog — even if it means a loss for Carolina. So, when one of…

Experiencing change through the Woods

Published on January 19, 2016

…when my wife and I welcomed our son, James David, to the world. Still, my weekly routine consisted of many hours away from my family. It was becoming unbearable. I enjoyed covering those town council meetings. I liked designing pages…
