Learn various bread-baking basics, tips and tricks for creating and maintaining sourdough bread starters on Thursday, Feb. 22, during a virtual and in-person workshop hosted by White Violet Center for Eco-Justice (WVC), a ministry of the Sisters of Providence of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, Indiana.

The workshop will take place from 6-8 p.m., EDT, and will be facilitated by Candace Minster.

During the workshop, also learn ideas for how to incorporate sourdough into a variety of other baked goods.

Instructions and starters will be discussed during the workshop.

Cost is $45, which includes instruction materials and a starter. A starter can be picked up at the White Violet Farm Store or shipped to your home.

Candace Minster

Candace Minster serves as garden and fiber projects manager for White Violet Center for Eco-Justice. Her focus is on expanding the flower operation and working with fiber from our alpacas. She has been a member of the White Violet Center team for over 18 years. Her areas of expertise include organic gardening, growing flowers, worm composting, bread baking,  food preservation (canning, fermentation, pickling),  fiber arts (knitting, spinning and weaving) and fiber processing.
