The Sisters of Providence of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods spoke out and demonstrated against and prayed for all people impacted by the death penalty and their victims last week. In these photos we share some of their actions in response to the first federal executions in 17 years that took place on July 13, 15 and 17 at the federal penitentiary in Terre Haute, located just ten miles from the Sisters of Providence motherhouse at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods.
