Mother Theodore entered a culture entirely unknown to her; so perhaps the mission succeeded and endures because of her willingness to act, observe, learn and adapt.

Gratefulness will be the bedrock which will ground our connection to the God who is love

In reflecting on my journey, I recalled a quote from Mother Theodore which really resonated with me. “You will see many things in a new light if you give the Holy Spirit free access to your heart.”

So rest in power and in peace, dear Betty. We know that your spirit moves and continues to love among us.

1. We need more Love, Mercy and Justice in the world
When you support the Sisters of Providence, you are supporting each Sister of Providence as she works to educate, advocate for and care for people on the margins of society. Is it hard for you to care for all the people in need you would like to help? When you donate to the Sisters of Providence you are supporting people in need through the work of the sisters.

Since shopping for Christmas presents could be particularly challenging this year, think about gifting others with these blessings instead, at Christmas and throughout the year

I tend to forget that Mother Theodore came from a rather sophisticated France with great Cathedrals, actual roads, and thriving businesses, etc.

Thank you for the sacrifices of essential workers, front-liners, health care workers
