Poem: Annual Meeting

Editor’s note: Sister Ruth Johnson, SP, shares this poem that she wrote at the closing of this summer’s annual meeting, in which Sisters of Providence come together for a week each summer to bond, pray, learn and play. You can see photos from this year’s meeting here.
We leave this place
but we take what peace
we have received
with us. —
We remember these days,
drawing on the intermingling
to winter us through —
We sing these songs
to keep remembering
we have bonded.
And till the next time
when we return to this place
we are as one.

Ruth, your poetry certainly captured the moment! Thank you!
