Throwback Thursday: Do you know who we are?
This photo was taken in 1984. It is a band of Sisters of Providence going through what is known as the “Tertianship” period.
The Tertianship is the final formal period of initial formation for the Sisters of Providence, or the period of time before sisters take their final vows. The period is approximately nine months to one year.
Can you name these sisters? Here’s a hint – three of the sisters in this photo were recently elected at the General Chapter to minister as General Officers.
We’ll name the sisters soon. Have fun guessing!
Answers: The Sisters of Providence in this photo include – Sister Becky Keller, Sister Mary Ann DeFazio, Franciscan Sister of the Sacred Heart Sister Deborah Suddarth, Sister Jeanne Hagelskamp, Sister Deborah Campbell, Sister Wendy Workman (RIP), Sister Sue Pietrus (RIP), Sister Merry Marcotte (RIP), Sister Lisa Stallings and Sister Dawn Tomaszewski.
Of Note: Sister Deborah Suddarth was a Sister of Providence when this photo was taken. She had transferred from the Franciscan Sisters of the Sacred Heart.
