So life affirming and so authentic…
I have found the Sisters to be so life affirming and so authentic. I have been blessed in many ways. Sister Margaret Kern has been my spiritual director and her insights, presence and wisdom have benefited me in a myriad of ways. My Christian faith has developed because of her.
I visited Sister Becky in regards to how I could volunteer and she was so gracious, positive and alive with ideas. She put me in touch with Sister Jan Craven and Sister Paula Damiano, who have also been equally gracious and affirming.
I enjoy my Docent activities very much. With the Shrine of Saint Mother Theodore Guerin, the Church of the Immaculate Conception, the grounds, the Sisters and the Sisters of Providence staff, it is truly an amazing place to visit.
The Sisters of Providence are such a great gift to our local community and beyond. I have been attending the Sisters of Providence history class directed by Sister Mary Ryan and that has given me an even deeper appreciation of the work of the Sisters of Providence and of Saint Mother Theodore Guerin.
I was asked by Sister Paula to lead this year’s Lenten Book Study on “The Return of the Prodigal Son” by Henri Nouwen. All of the participants were so insightful and contributed to my own insights in understanding this book.
The positive and affirming love, counsel and friendship I have found as a volunteer for the Sisters of Providence is extraordinary. There is a quote from Mother Theodore which says “love the children first and then teach them.” The sisters certainly live this ideal daily.
It has been such a blessing to me personally and I encourage all to come volunteer and experience Saint Mary-of-the-Woods through the eyes of the Sister of Providence.
Amen.
The Sisters of Providence are blessed to have Will, and his wife Betsy as friends of the congregation. The Lenten Book Study was excellent and the evaluations by participants indicate that they want more of the same from this fine man! Thank you so much Will!
Thank you Will for sharing about yourself on the Blog. I am so happy that you are in the Community History Class. You have been an asset to the class and I am glad to be able to call you a Partner in Providence. Thank you for all that you do for the Sisters of Providence, especially at the Shrine.
