Working Women’s Hands

A photo journal of the gifts of the Sisters of Providence of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, Ind., published in July 2010. This journal was created in print by Jessie Light, who was a Providence Volunteer Minister from 2009-10, and has been transposed to video so it may be seen by a wider audience. The journal was intended as a celebration of the gifts each individual Sister of Providence offers, as observed by Jessie during her volunteer experience.

Sisters of Providence

The Sisters of Providence of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, Indiana, are a congregation of Roman Catholic women religious (sisters) who minister throughout the United States and Taiwan. Saint Mother Theodore Guerin founded the Sisters of Providence in 1840. The congregation has a mission of being God's Providence in the world by committing to performing works of love, mercy and justice in service among God's people.
