DESCRIPTION:Enjoy the beauty of our flower field and learn how to make a floral arrangement while sipping on specialty kombucha from Ferm Fresh as White Violet Center for Eco-Justice\, a ministry of the Sisters of Providence of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods\, Indiana\, hosts “Booch ‘n’ Blooms!” \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe event will take place from 6:30-9 p.m.\, on Saturday\, July 18\, at the White Violet Center for Eco-Justice (WVC) flower field. \n\n\n\nThe evening will begin with an “amuse booch” hour\, a kombucha tasting and tour of the garden before the floral lesson begins. \n\n\n\nParticipants will receive a tutorial from hosts Candace Minster\, WVC flower and fiber arts manager\, and Tara Elmore\, WVC outreach coordinator\, on how to harvest flowers\, a chance to cut some blooms and then a floral arrangement demonstration before making their own take-home arrangements. \n\n\n\nEach registration includes Ferm Fresh kombucha\, instruction and one specialty vase to take home as well as the flowers! \n\n\n\nThere is a maximum of 15 registration openings and the registration deadline is Friday\, July 17. \n\n\n\nCost to attend the program is $65. In addition\, Haney will identify the invasive plants the Sisters of Providence have been working to eliminate. \n\n\n\nMake sure to wear comfortable shoes and appropriate clothing for the weather. \n\n\n\nCost to attend the workshop is $40. SUMMARY:Sourdough Bread Baking Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Sourdough breads are a delicious\, nutritional treasure and are easier to make than you may think. Let Candace\, our resident bread-baker\, walk you through the process from the comfort of your own home. Learn sourdough bread-making basics\, tips and tricks for creating and maintaining starters and ideas for how to incorporate sourdough into a variety of other baked goods.  Our in-person class option is now full but we still have spots available for virtual participants. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe workshop includes instruction materials and a sourdough starter. Starters can be picked up in advance at the White Violet Farm Store or shipped to your home for a small fee. \n\n\n\nThis is a demonstration class where participants see the process. In person class is limited to 15 people. \n\n\n\nThe workshop will take place in-person or virtually from 6-8 p.m.\, on Thursday\, February 20. Cost is $50 per person. \n\n\n\nThe registration deadline is February 14.

Learn the basics for spinning your own warm\, soft and wooly yarn. You will learn the gentle\, easy rhythm of spinning in a relaxed setting. The White Violet Center has spinning wheels and sheep’s wool for you to use during this interactive and unique workshop. Students may also bring their own wheels and fiber if they choose. This class is suitable for absolute beginners as well as folks who are hoping to brush up on any rusty skills. \n\n\n\nLight refreshments will be available. Please indicate any food allergies or dietary preferences in the registration form.
