Begin your visit at Providence Spirituality and Conference Center, the official welcome center at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, Ind. Our experienced staff will make your visit exceptional and memorable. Let us customize your visit with a guided tour that meets your needs and interests or travel at your own pace with a self-guided tour. Many guests enjoy the following tours:
INDOOR TOUR – Handicap Accessible
- Visit the Shrine of Saint Mother Theodore Guerin and the National Shrine of Our Lady of Providence. See the Dioramas, Blessed Sacrament Chapel, the Church of the Immaculate Conception, and visit Linden Leaf Gifts.
OUTDOOR TOUR – walk, car, or bus
- Visit Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes, Saint Anne Shell Chapel, the Log Cabin Chapel, Stations of the Cross and many other shrines on campus. You may also visit the White Violet Center for Eco-Justice, where you will see alpacas and learn about sustainability.
SPEND THE DAY!
- Visit all of the sacred spaces on the indoor and outdoor tours, join the sisters for Mass and stay for lunch. Walk the beautiful grounds and also visit the alpacas.
WHITE VIOLET CENTER TOUR
- In addition to the above tours, the White Violet Center offers hands-on educational on sustainable agriculture including the alpacas, gardens, orchards and even the nature trail. Additional activities are also available upon request.
Let a Sister of Providence or Providence Associate tell the story of these amazing women. When scheduled in advance, a group may also see a short movie about Mother Theodore. Many guests join the sisters for Mass and stay for lunch.
Check in a the reception desk at Providence Spirituality and Conference Center to obtain a map of the grounds. Visit all the inside and outside sites that are included in the guided tours.
