DESCRIPTION:Join the Sisters of Providence of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods\, Indiana\, for the upcoming “End ICE Detention at Miami Correctional Facility” vigil\, which will take place in front of the Church of the Immaculate Conception from 2-3 p.m.\, on Sunday\, Aug. 30. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMore than 50 vigils have been scheduled across the state of Indiana during the weekend. Hoosiers are saying NO! \n\n\n\nIn his recent pastoral letter\, Archbishop Garcia-Siller said “Every person of faith and goodwill in the community must pray\, speak and act.” \n\n\n\nJoin us to do that on Sunday\, Aug. 30. Together\, we will pray\, tell the stories of Wabash Valley families suffering under the unjust systems currently inflicting so much harm in communities and prepare ourselves to act on behalf of human dignity. \n\n\n\nWe hope all in attendance leave inspired to add their voice\, time\, expertise and more to local and state organizations working to support families affected by ICE detention as well as those working to end ICE detention in Indiana and beyond.

DESCRIPTION:Providence Food Pantry invites the public to participate in the upcoming “Hunger Bust Fun Run/Walk” to take place at 10 a.m.\, on Saturday\, Sept. 12\, on the grounds of the Sisters of Providence of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods\, Indiana\, and Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College. \n\n\n\nSister Editha Ben.\n\n\n\nAll proceeds from the event will benefit Providence Food Pantry\, a sponsored ministry of the Sisters of Providence. \n\n\n\nSince its inception on Sept. 8\, 1994\, the pantry has provided more than 14 million meals and has served more than 374\,000 individuals in the Wabash Valley. \n\n\n\nRegistration for the race will begin at 9 a.m.\, and conclude at 9:45 a.m.\, with the race beginning at 10 a.m.\, rain or shine. \n\n\n\nCost to take part in the race is $20\, with one T-shirt guaranteed to each pre-registered participant. Early registration must be received by Aug. 20. All T-shirts will be handed out during the event. \n\n\n\nMake checks for pre-registration payable to Providence Food Pantry/Hunger Bust\, and mail to Providence Food Pantry\, 701 W. National Ave.\, West Terre Haute\, IN\, 47885. Registrations will also be accepted the morning of Hunger Bust. DESCRIPTION:The Sisters of Providence of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods\, Indiana\, and Providence Associates invite persons of all faith traditions to join them in person or virtually for the Eucharistic Liturgy (Mass) at 11 a.m.\, on Saturday\, October 3\, to celebrate the Feast Day of Saint Mother Theodore Guerin\, the eighth American Saint and foundress of the Sisters of Providence. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCelebrate the Feast Day of Saint Mother Theodore Guerin by joining the Congregation and Providence Associations for a special Mass. \n\n\n\nThe liturgy will take place in the Church of the Immaculate Conception at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods\, located about 10 minutes northwest of downtown Terre Haute. \n\n\n\nSaint Mother Theodore Guerin was canonized by Pope Benedict XVI on October 15\, 2006. \n\n\n\nStay tuned for more information regarding watching the Mass via livestream.

DESCRIPTION:What if grief were not something to overcome\, but a sacred invitation to listen more deeply? \n\n\n\nCome rest among the trees and silence with the Sisters of Providence of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods\, Indiana\, and others during the Tending to Grief Retreat. \n\n\n\nThe retreat begins at 9 a.m.\, on Friday\, November 6\, and concludes at 10 a.m.\, on Sunday\, November 8\, at the Woodhaven Retreat and Guest House at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods. \n\n\n\nThrough reflection\, creativity\, embodied practice and ritual\, we will honor what we love\, what we’ve lost and what still longs to flourish. \n\n\n\nGrief is a common response to loss\, change and the realities of witnessing the suffering of our human and more-than-human kin. Join facilitator Sister Corbin Hannah\, SP\, and others during the weekend as you are invited to rest\, reflect and engage grief with curiosity\, creativity and compassion. \n\n\n\nThere will be dedicated time and space for exploring grief in the company of others; learning about the nature of grief and how it affects our lives; guided experiences in nature; creative expression and embodiment practices. \n\n\n\nThere will also be the opportunity for one-on-one sessions with a spiritual director. \n\n\n\nCost to attend is $375 and the registration deadline is Sunday\, November 1. \n\n\n\nAccommodations will be made available beginning at 3 p.m.\, Thursday\, November 5. DESCRIPTION:The Sisters of Providence of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods\, Indiana\, and Providence Associates invite persons of all faith traditions to join them in person or virtually for the Eucharistic Liturgy (Mass) at 11:00 a.m.\, on Thursday\, November 19\, to celebrate the Feast Day of Our Lady of Providence. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCelebrate the Feast Day of Our Lady of Providence by joining the Congregation and Providence Associates for a special Mass. \n\n\n\nThe liturgy will take place in the Church of the Immaculate Conception at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods\, located 10 minutes northeast of downtown Terre Haute. \n\n\n\nDedication to Mary under the title of Our Lady of Providence began with the first shrine dedicated to her in Italy in 1664. In May 1925\, the Sisters of Providence established the National Shrine of Our Lady of Providence in the United States. \n\n\n\nIn April 2014\, the National Shrine of Our Lady of Providence was rededicated in a new location\, the vestibule of the Church of the Immaculate Conception.
