SUMMARY:Taizé Ecumenical Prayer service at the Woods
DESCRIPTION:Taizé Prayer is a simple\, meditative form of worship for all spiritual seekers who would like to dwell deeply in God’s presence around and within us. Songs\, prayerful silence and short readings guide the focus of our prayer in a candle-lit environment. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEach Taizé service includes prayer\, simple music\, a time for silence and inspirational readings. Song refrains are sung many times over as a prayer of the heart. \n\n\n\nJoin us monthly on the second Tuesday in person or via livestream for this hour-long service\, based on a tradition from Taizé\, France. \n\n\n\nAll are welcome to participate. \n\n\n\nThe 2026 theme is “Journey Towards Wholeness.” \n\n\n\nCost: Freewill donation

DESCRIPTION:Are you 12-18 years old? Come share your time and talents with our retired Sisters of Providence at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods as well as health care residents. \n\n\n\nVisit with elder sisters and help them with activities such as Bingo\, exercise\, baking\, card making\, attending events and more.  \n\n\n\nYour presence will brighten a sisters’ day! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMost of our volunteer opportunities are 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Teens will gather at 9 a.m.\, in the lobby of Providence Spirituality & Conference Center at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods.  \n\n\n\nWear comfortable shoes and clothes that allow you to be mobile. Lunch is provided. \n\n\n\nRegistration for each event is due one day before.

Saint Mary-of-the-Woods is the perfect place to slow down and listen for the voice of God. \n\n\n\nWho are we? What do we do? SUMMARY:Alpaca Yoga
DESCRIPTION:Join the staff of White Violet Center for Eco-Justice (WVC)\, a ministry of the Sisters of Providence of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods\, Indiana\, and others as they host the upcoming Alpaca Yoga\, scheduled to take place from 11 a.m.-noon\, on Sunday\, October 25. \n\n\n\nShannon Hamilton with some of our alpacas!\n\n\n\nShannon Hamilton\, Athletic Trainer for Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College and certified Yoga Instructor at Common Ground in Terre Haute\, will lead this unique experience along with the alpacas in the alpaca pasture. \n\n\n\nParticipants must be 18-years-old or older to take part and space is limited. Please bring your own mat and water bottle. We encourage you to also bring a towel or blanket to place underneath your mat! \n\n\n\nAttendees are asked to arrive at 10:45 a.m.\, and meet at the White Violet Center Farm Store. From there\, you’ll walk to the female alpaca pasture for the one-hour long exercise. \n\n\n\nCost is $15 per person or $5 for students. DESCRIPTION:Children of all ages\, along with their guardians\, are invited to join White Violet Center for Eco-Justice (WVC) staffers and others for the upcoming “Snackin’ with the Alpacas: All Ages Reading Program.” \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe event will take place from noon-1 p.m.\, on Wednesday\, October 28. Bring a sack lunch for a picnic near the alpacas while WVC Director of Outreach and Events Tara Elmore\, Farm Projects Assistant Raven Renn and Vigo County Public Library West Branch Assistant Librarian Beth Nelson read some fun alpaca stories.
