DESCRIPTION:Are you 12-18 years old? Come share your time and talents with our retired Sisters of Providence at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods and health care residents.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nVisit with elder sisters and help them with activities such as Bingo\, exercise\, baking\, card making\, attending events and more. Your presence will brighten a sisters’ day! \n\n\n\nMost of our volunteer opportunities are from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Teens will gather at 9 a.m. in the lobby of Providence Spirituality and Conference Center at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods. Wear comfortable shoes and clothes that allow you to be mobile. Lunch is provided. \n\n\n\nRegistration for each event is one day before.

SUMMARY:Taizé Ecumenical Prayer service at the Woods
DESCRIPTION:Taizé Prayer is a simple\, meditative form of worship for all spiritual seekers who would like to dwell deeply in God’s presence around and within us. Songs\, prayerful silence and short readings guide the focus of our prayer in a candle-lit environment. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEach Taizé service includes prayer\, simple music\, a time for silence and inspirational readings. Song refrains are sung many times over as a prayer of the heart. \n\n\n\nJoin us monthly on the second Tuesday in person or via livestream for this hour-long service\, based on a tradition from Taizé\, France. \n\n\n\nAll are welcome to participate. \n\n\n\nThe 2026 theme is “Journey Towards Wholeness.” \n\n\n\nCost: Freewill donation

DESCRIPTION:The class\, which is scheduled for February\, is so popular that we added a second one! \n\n\n\nSourdough breads are a delicious\, nutritional treasure and are easier to make than you may think. Let Candace\, our resident bread-baker\, walk you through the process. Learn sourdough bread-making basics\, tips\, and tricks for creating and maintaining starters and ideas for how to incorporate sourdough into a variety of other baked goods. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe workshop includes instruction materials and a sourdough starter. Starters will be provided to participants at the beginning of class. This is a demonstration class in which participants will observe the full creation and baking process. It is limited to 15 people. \n\n\n\nThe workshop will take place from 6-8:30 p.m.\, on Thursday\, March 19\, in the White Violet Center classroom. \n\n\n\nCost to attend the class is $50 per person\, which includes a sourdough starter.

DESCRIPTION:During this past Advent\, 17 peacemakers led by Catholic Workers from across the country spent time in Palestine-Israel\, hosted by Sabeel\, which is the grassroots ecumenical Palestinian liberation theology movement rooted in the universal ethic of nonviolence. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPalestinians are seeking solidarity and a physical presence from faith communities in the United States amidst the U.S.-funded ongoing genocide in Gaza that is spreading to the Occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem. \n\n\n\nThis educational driven livestreamed event will begin at 6:15 p.m.\, and conclude at 7:15 p.m.\, followed by a 30-minute question and answer session.
