Your presence will brighten a sisters’ day! \n\n\n\nMost of our volunteer opportunities are from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Teens will gather at 9 a.m. in the lobby of Providence Spirituality and Conference Center at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods. Wear comfortable shoes and clothes that allow you to be mobile. Lunch is provided. \n\n\n\nRegistration is due the day before each event.

DESCRIPTION:Join us for yoga in the pasture with our alpacas and Shannon Hamilton\, Athletic Director at SMWC and certified Yoga Instructor at Common Ground in Terre Haute. This event is part of our collaboration with the Department of Sustainability at Indiana State University to celebrate the Earth (throughout) the month of April. \n\n\n\nThis is a free event but please register in advance. Participants will meet at the White Violet Center Farm Store at 9:45 a.m. and practice yoga for 60 minutes in the pasture among the alpacas. You need to provide your own mat and we encourage you to bring a towel or blanket for underneath your mat as well as your own water bottle. Participants must be 18 years or older. Space is limited. \n\n\n\nThose attending who are participating in our “We are all in this Together” raffle can earn a punch for their punch card to be eligible for our grand prize drawing at the end of the month! No purchase is necessary to participate.

SUMMARY:Way of the Cross for Justice
DESCRIPTION:Persons of all faith traditions are invited to attend this year’s Way of the Cross for Justice\, scheduled for 11a.m.\, on Good Friday\, April 18. During the hour-long service\, those participating will recall Jesus’ journey to the cross while uniting His path with justice struggles we face today. \n\n\n\nThe Sisters of Providence will host the Way of the Cross for Justice Prayer from 11 a.m. to noon.\, on Good Friday\, April 18. \n\n\n\nTraditionally\, the Stations of the Cross help people of all faith traditions make a spiritual pilgrimage of prayer\, opening a space for reflection\, memory and action\, as they meditate upon the scenes of Christ’s sufferings and death. Walking the path of the Stations to commemorate the Passion of the Christ is said to have started with Saint Francis of Assisi. \n\n\n\nThere is no cost to take part in the service. Freewill offerings will be accepted to support justice efforts in the Wabash Valley.

DESCRIPTION:You and the family are invited to the White Violet Center for Eco-Justice and Sisters of Providence annual Earth Day Festival at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods! Immerse yourself in nature at our beautiful Woods while enjoying many different activities. There’s something for everyone from nature shows and earth-related craft activities for the kids\, to spinning\, weaving and felting demonstrations and visits with the alpacas that provide the fiber. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSee below for a complete list of scheduled events. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBe sure to bring your refillable water bottles for our free and eco-friendly water station. Our Providence Community will be hosting their popular bake sale with homemade baked goods of all kinds! \n\n\n\nThe festival begins at 11 a.m. and runs until 3 p.m. Saint Mary-of-the-Woods is located 10 minutes northwest of downtown Terre Haute\, Indiana.  \n\n\n\nWe will have entertainment like live music\, wildlife presentations\, woodcarving demonstrations and demonstrations on spinning and weaving. Food vendors will be available to purchase snacks\, beverages\, and meals – there will be something for all ages and dietary needs. DESCRIPTION:As Sisters of Providence\, we have a moral responsibility to use our collective voice to uplift Gospel values\, embody compassion and provide hope to those who are being silenced. On June 24 we are co-sponsoring an event in Washington\, D.C.\, with over 30 congregations of women religious\, where we will engage in prayer and public witness for immigrants and a just economy. We are also hosting an “echo event” being held outside the Church of the Immaculate Conception for those unable to attend in Washington\, D.C.\, but feel compelled to stand and support those without a voice. \n\n\n\nPeople of all faiths are invited to unite with the Sisters of Providence in compassion\, empathy and understanding for this special event. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own signs of solidarity and peace to lift the voices of immigrants and the disenfranchised. Come make a difference in this world as we continue our mission of love\, mercy and justice! \n\n\n\nThis event will take place on Tuesday\, June 24 from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. outside the Church of the Immaculate Conception\, come rain or shine. In case of rain\, we are prepared to move into the lobby of O’Shaugnessy\, at Providence Spirituality & Conference Center. Join us for community and positive change.
