SUMMARY:Hunger Bust Fun Run/Walk
DESCRIPTION:Providence Food Pantry invites the public to participate in the upcoming “Hunger Bust Fun Run/Walk” to take place at 10 a.m.\, on Saturday\, Sept. 12\, on the grounds of the Sisters of Providence of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods\, Indiana\, and Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College. \n\n\n\nSister Editha Ben.\n\n\n\nAll proceeds from the event will benefit Providence Food Pantry\, a sponsored ministry of the Sisters of Providence. \n\n\n\nSince its inception on Sept. 8\, 1994\, the pantry has provided more than 14 million meals and has served more than 374\,000 individuals in the Wabash Valley. \n\n\n\nRegistration for the race will begin at 9 a.m.\, and conclude at 9:45 a.m.\, with the race beginning at 10 a.m.\, rain or shine. \n\n\n\nCost to take part in the race is $20\, with one T-shirt guaranteed to each pre-registered participant. Early registration must be received by Aug. 20. All T-shirts will be handed out during the event. \n\n\n\nMake checks for pre-registration payable to Providence Food Pantry/Hunger Bust\, and mail to Providence Food Pantry\, 701 W. National Ave.\, West Terre Haute\, IN\, 47885. Registrations will also be accepted the morning of Hunger Bust. Used with permsission.\n\n\n\nJoin us October 11\, 2026\, at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods\, Indiana as we celebrate the life and legacy (and 20 years of sainthood!) of our foundress Saint Mother Theodore Guerin. \n\n\n\nThis time of celebration will include: \n\n\n\n\nA pilgrimage through the sacred grounds of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods\, where Mother Theodore lived her mission and where generations of Sisters of Providence have continued her legacy of love and service at 9:30 a.m.\n\n\n\nA special Eucharistic Liturgy celebrated in Saint Mother Theodore’s honor in the historic Church of the Immaculate Conception at 11 a.m.\n\n\n\nA celebratory picnic lunch at noon.\n\n\n\n\nAll are welcome to come celebrate this special day with us! \n\n\n\nJoin us as we prayerfully enter into places and stories that shaped Mother Theodore’s life. Consider how our God of Providence continues to invite each of us to bring hope\, compassion and healing into our world. \n\n\n\nCome as you are and bring someone with you. Whether you come seeking reflection\, connection\, renewal or a deeper sense of hope\, this day offers an opportunity to journey together and discover the ways Providence is still at work in our lives. \n\n\n\nMost spaces are accessible and there will be limited transportation to shuttle people who may need extra assistance. \n\n\n\nThere is no cost for the event\, but please register below so we know how many to prepare for. DESCRIPTION:The Sisters of Providence of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods\, Indiana\, and Providence Associates invite persons of all faith traditions to join them in person or virtually for the Eucharistic Liturgy (Mass) at 11:00 a.m.\, on Thursday\, November 19\, to celebrate the Feast Day of Our Lady of Providence. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCelebrate the Feast Day of Our Lady of Providence by joining the Congregation and Providence Associates for a special Mass. \n\n\n\nThe liturgy will take place in the Church of the Immaculate Conception at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods\, located 10 minutes northeast of downtown Terre Haute. \n\n\n\nDedication to Mary under the title of Our Lady of Providence began with the first shrine dedicated to her in Italy in 1664. In May 1925\, the Sisters of Providence established the National Shrine of Our Lady of Providence in the United States. \n\n\n\nIn April 2014\, the National Shrine of Our Lady of Providence was rededicated in a new location\, the vestibule of the Church of the Immaculate Conception.
