DESCRIPTION:Join us for the upcoming Lunch and Learn: Native and Invasives of Indiana Woods\, set for noon-3 p.m.\, on Saturday\, May 9. \n\n\n\nThe workshop will take place at White Violet Center for Eco-Justice\, a ministry of the Sisters of Providence of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods\, Indiana\, and in the wooded areas near the center. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBegin the day with a lunch prepared by Chef Ann Testa featuring seasonal produce found from the gardens of White Violet Center followed by a guided hike with forester Stuart Haney\, who will identify the native trees and plants that have been around since Saint Mother Theodore Guerin walked these Woods. In addition\, Haney will identify the invasive plants the Sisters of Providence have been working to eliminate. \n\n\n\nMake sure to wear comfortable shoes and appropriate clothing for the weather. \n\n\n\nCost to attend the workshop is $40. DESCRIPTION:You and the family are invited to the White Violet Center for Eco-Justice and Sisters of Providence annual Earth Day Festival at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods! Immerse yourself in nature at our beautiful Woods while enjoying many different activities. There’s something for everyone from nature shows and earth-related craft activities for the kids\, to spinning\, weaving and felting demonstrations and visits with the alpacas that provide the fiber. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBe sure to bring your refillable water bottles for our free and eco-friendly water station. Our Providence Community will be hosting their popular bake sale with homemade baked goods of all kinds! \n\n\n\nThe festival begins at 11 a.m. and runs until 3 p.m. Saint Mary-of-the-Woods is located 10 minutes northwest of downtown Terre Haute\, Indiana. \n\n\n\nWe will have entertainment like live music\, wildlife presentations\, woodcarving demonstrations and demonstrations on spinning and weaving. Food vendors will be available to purchase snacks\, beverages\, and meals – there will be something for all ages and dietary needs. We will also have vendors and educational exhibitors on hand for earth-friendly shopping and to expand your knowledge of how we can be better stewards of our planet. \n\n\n\nThose interested in volunteering for the event can sign up here. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nA special thank you to this year’s sponsor\, Ranger Power LLC.

Let Candace\, our resident bread-baker\, walk you through the process. Learn sourdough bread-making basics\, tips\, and tricks for creating and maintaining starters and ideas for how to incorporate sourdough into a variety of other baked goods. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe workshop includes instruction materials and a sourdough starter. Starters will be provided to participants at the beginning of class. This is a demonstration class in which participants will observe the full creation and baking process. It is limited to 15 people. \n\n\n\nThe workshop will take place from 6-8:30 p.m.\, on Thursday\, March 19\, in the White Violet Center classroom. \n\n\n\nCost to attend the class is $50 per person\, which includes a sourdough starter.

DESCRIPTION:You and the family are invited to the White Violet Center for Eco-Justice and Sisters of Providence annual Earth Day Festival at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods! Immerse yourself in nature at our beautiful Woods while enjoying many different activities. There’s something for everyone from nature shows and earth-related craft activities for the kids\, to spinning\, weaving and felting demonstrations and visits with the alpacas that provide the fiber. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSee below for a complete list of scheduled events. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBe sure to bring your refillable water bottles for our free and eco-friendly water station. Our Providence Community will be hosting their popular bake sale with homemade baked goods of all kinds! \n\n\n\nThe festival begins at 11 a.m. and runs until 3 p.m. Saint Mary-of-the-Woods is located 10 minutes northwest of downtown Terre Haute\, Indiana.  \n\n\n\nWe will have entertainment like live music\, wildlife presentations\, woodcarving demonstrations and demonstrations on spinning and weaving. Food vendors will be available to purchase snacks\, beverages\, and meals – there will be something for all ages and dietary needs. SUMMARY:Sourdough Bread Baking Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Sourdough breads are a delicious\, nutritional treasure and are easier to make than you may think. Let Candace\, our resident bread-baker\, walk you through the process from the comfort of your own home. Learn sourdough bread-making basics\, tips and tricks for creating and maintaining starters and ideas for how to incorporate sourdough into a variety of other baked goods.  Our in-person class option is now full but we still have spots available for virtual participants. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe workshop includes instruction materials and a sourdough starter. Starters can be picked up in advance at the White Violet Farm Store or shipped to your home for a small fee. \n\n\n\nThis is a demonstration class where participants see the process. In person class is limited to 15 people. \n\n\n\nThe workshop will take place in-person or virtually from 6-8 p.m.\, on Thursday\, February 20. Cost is $50 per person. \n\n\n\nThe registration deadline is February 14.
