Used with permsission.\n\n\n\nJoin us October 11\, 2026\, at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods\, Indiana as we celebrate the life and legacy (and 20 years of sainthood!) of our foundress Saint Mother Theodore Guerin. \n\n\n\nThis time of celebration will include: \n\n\n\n\nA pilgrimage through the sacred grounds of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods\, where Mother Theodore lived her mission and where generations of Sisters of Providence have continued her legacy of love and service at 9:30 a.m.\n\n\n\nA special Eucharistic Liturgy celebrated in Saint Mother Theodore’s honor in the historic Church of the Immaculate Conception at 11 a.m.\n\n\n\nA celebratory picnic lunch at noon.\n\n\n\n\nAll are welcome to come celebrate this special day with us! \n\n\n\nJoin us as we prayerfully enter into places and stories that shaped Mother Theodore’s life. Consider how our God of Providence continues to invite each of us to bring hope\, compassion and healing into our world. \n\n\n\nCome as you are and bring someone with you. Whether you come seeking reflection\, connection\, renewal or a deeper sense of hope\, this day offers an opportunity to journey together and discover the ways Providence is still at work in our lives. \n\n\n\nMost spaces are accessible and there will be limited transportation to shuttle people who may need extra assistance. \n\n\n\nThere is no cost for the event\, but please register below so we know how many to prepare for. DESCRIPTION:Children of all ages\, along with their guardians\, are invited to join White Violet Center for Eco-Justice (WVC) staffers and others for the upcoming “Snackin’ with the Alpacas: All Ages Reading Program.” \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe event will take place from noon-1 p.m.\, on Wednesday\, October 28. Bring a sack lunch for a picnic near the alpacas while WVC Director of Outreach and Events Tara Elmore\, Farm Projects Assistant Raven Renn and Vigo County Public Library West Branch Assistant Librarian Beth Nelson read some fun alpaca stories. DESCRIPTION:The Sisters of Providence of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods\, Indiana\, and Providence Associates invite persons of all faith traditions to join them in person or virtually for the Eucharistic Liturgy (Mass) at 11:00 a.m.\, on Thursday\, November 19\, to celebrate the Feast Day of Our Lady of Providence. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCelebrate the Feast Day of Our Lady of Providence by joining the Congregation and Providence Associates for a special Mass. \n\n\n\nThe liturgy will take place in the Church of the Immaculate Conception at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods\, located 10 minutes northeast of downtown Terre Haute. \n\n\n\nDedication to Mary under the title of Our Lady of Providence began with the first shrine dedicated to her in Italy in 1664. In May 1925\, the Sisters of Providence established the National Shrine of Our Lady of Providence in the United States. \n\n\n\nIn April 2014\, the National Shrine of Our Lady of Providence was rededicated in a new location\, the vestibule of the Church of the Immaculate Conception.
