DESCRIPTION:The Sisters of Providence of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods\, Indiana\, and Providence Associates invite persons of all faith traditions to join them in person or virtually for the Eucharistic Liturgy (Mass) at 11:00 a.m.\, on Wednesday\, Nov. 19\, to celebrate the Feast Day of Our Lady of Providence. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCelebrate the Feast Day of Our Lady of Providence by joining the Congregation and Providence Associates for a special Mass. \n\n\n\nThe liturgy will take place in the Church of the Immaculate Conception at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods\, located 10 minutes northeast of downtown Terre Haute. \n\n\n\nDedication to Mary under the title of Our Lady of Providence began with the first shrine dedicated to her in Italy in 1664. In May 1925\, the Sisters of Providence established the National Shrine of Our Lady of Providence in the United States. \n\n\n\nIn April 2014\, the National Shrine of Our Lady of Providence was rededicated in a new location\, the vestibule of the Church of the Immaculate Conception.

DESCRIPTION:Due to the impending weather conditions and for the safety of our guests and volunteers\, we have decided to cancel Christmas Fun at the Woods.\n\n\n\nThe holiday tradition is back! Celebrate the coming of Christmas with the Sisters of Providence at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nGuests of all ages are invited to the Providence Spirituality & Conference Center and Providence Hall for an afternoon full of fun for the whole family including crafts\, storytelling\, face painting\, bake sale\, cake walk and much more. \n\n\n\nThere may even be a visit from Santa himself! \n\n\n\nThe event will take place from 1:30-4:30 p.m.\, on Saturday\, Dec. 13. \n\n\n\nWe welcome a suggested donation of $5/car for this event. \n\n\n\nThe Sisters of Providence need more volunteers for various kids activities Saturday\, December 13th from 1:30 – 4:30 PM.  \n\n\n\nThe volunteer signup sheet is live! Groups and teens (with a guardian present) are welcome to volunteer for this event. \n\n\n\nInterested in learning more or have questions? DESCRIPTION:Earth Day Program 2026\n\n\n\nYou and the family are invited to the White Violet Center for Eco-Justice and Sisters of Providence annual Earth Day Festival at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods! Immerse yourself in nature at our beautiful Woods while enjoying many different activities. There’s something for everyone from nature shows and earth-related craft activities for the kids\, to spinning\, weaving and felting demonstrations and visits with the alpacas that provide the fiber. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBe sure to bring your refillable water bottles for our free and eco-friendly water station. Our Providence Community will be hosting their popular bake sale with homemade baked goods of all kinds! \n\n\n\nThe festival begins at 11 a.m. and runs until 3 p.m. Saint Mary-of-the-Woods is located 10 minutes northwest of downtown Terre Haute\, Indiana. \n\n\n\nWe will have entertainment like live music\, wildlife presentations\, woodcarving demonstrations and demonstrations on spinning and weaving. Food vendors will be available to purchase snacks\, beverages\, and meals – there will be something for all ages and dietary needs. We will also have vendors and educational exhibitors on hand for earth-friendly shopping and to expand your knowledge of how we can be better stewards of our planet. \n\n\n\nThose interested in volunteering for the event can sign up here. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nA special thank you to this year’s sponsor\, Ranger Power LLC.

DESCRIPTION:Rooted in Her Legacy\, Continuing the Story\n\n\n\nTwenty years after the canonization of Mother Theodore Guerin\, we are rooted in her legacy and invited to continue her story in our own time. \n\n\n\nPersons of all faith traditions are invited to join the Sisters of Providence of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods\, Indiana\, for a communal pilgrimage marking the 20th anniversary of the canonization of Mother Theodore Guerin\, on Sunday\, October 11. \n\n\n\nThe late Pope Benedict XVI processes to the altar during the Mass of Canonization Oct. 15\, 2006.\n\n\n\nA pilgrimage is scheduled for 9:30-10:30 a.m.\, with Mass set for 11 a.m.\, in the Church of the Immaculate Conception at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods. \n\n\n\nGrounded in the theme “Rooted in Her Legacy; Continuing the Story\,” this prayerful journey invites all to reflect on how her life of faith\, courage and love continues to unfold today. \n\n\n\nAs all walk together\, all will consider how her canonization is not only a moment to remember\, but an invitation to carry her spirit forward in their own lives. \n\n\n\nThe pilgrimage will conclude in time to enter into Mass as one community\, followed by a shared picnic lunch that extends the time of celebration. \n\n\n\nRSVPs will be requested for the celebration.
