SUMMARY:Pilgrims of Hope for Creation
DESCRIPTION:Join the Sisters of Providence on Sunday\, September 28\, for a Pilgrimage of Hope for Creation\, a spiritually transformative journey that blends prayer\, reflection and a deep commitment to caring for God’s creation. \n\n\n\nThe pilgrimage is part of the 2025 Jubilee Year celebrations\, inviting pilgrims from around the world to take part in a sacred walk of faith and ecological responsibility. \n\n\n\nAs part of the global call for ecological conversion initiated by Pope Francis in Laudato Si’\, this emphasizes the profound connection between spirituality and environmental stewardship. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPilgrims will embark on a journey that not only strengthens their faith\, but also challenges them to take concrete actions for the environment. \n\n\n\nThe pilgrimage is for everyone! While many of the sites at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods are outside and may require a good amount of walking\, we value inclusion and access and will provide alternative sacred spaces for pilgrims who may not be comfortable with the outdoor terrain. \n\n\n\nPlease dress appropriately for the weather by wearing comfortable walking shoes and make sure to bring sunscreen and a reusable water bottle. Water stations will be available for refills. \n\n\n\nMost spaces are accessible and there will be limited transportation to shuttle people who may need extra assistance. \n\n\n\nThe pilgrimage will take place at various places at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods\, Indiana. Check in time is 10-11 a.m.\, in the Foley Room at Providence Spirituality & Conference Center. Mass is at 11 a.m.\, in the Church of the Immaculate Conception. Lunch will follow in the Community Room of Providence Hall. The pilgrimage will conclude at 4:30 p.m.\, with a closing prayer beginning at 4 p.m. Pilgrims are invited to bring a sack lunch or order a light lunch prepared by our catering staff. \n\n\n\nThere is no cost to attend the pilgrimage\, but registration is required.

SUMMARY:Rest and Reflect: An Eco-Spiritual Retreat with Nature
DESCRIPTION:Spending time in nature can benefit our mental\, emotional\, physical and spiritual well-being. It can also help us connect with God. Connecting with the Divine through nature is often referred to as eco-spirituality. When we develop our relationship with our more-than-human kin\, we begin to recognize an interweaving and a Oneness. This gives us an opportunity to remember who we are and our place in this dance of life. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJoin us for the upcoming “Rest and Reflect: An Eco-Spiritual retreat with Nature\,” scheduled to take place September 26-28. Spend a restful weekend with the beautiful and peaceful land at the Woods. \n\n\n\nThe three-day retreat will include guided sessions in nature as you deeply listen to and connect with the Divine Life within and all around. As we observe the natural world\, we can gain insights into our own lives. Come\, allow the trees\, elements\, and wildlife to companion you as you spend time in gentle reflection. \n\n\n\nTake an opportunity to spend intentional time listening to the Life living in all beings. Guided sessions will assist your ability to ground\, slow down and listen to the wisdom within. Sessions will include forest bathing\, dialoguing with Nature\, connecting with the elements and evening circles around the fire. \n\n\n\nRetreatants will have the option to tent camp (tents will be available)\, stay in a shared cabin or in a private room in Woodhaven. Meals will be provided. Feel free to add in the comment section all dietary needs. \n\n\n\nAll genders are welcome. Retreat House\, shared cabin\, tent camper and commuter prices are available. \n\n\n\nLodging check in is set for Thursday\, September 25\, after 3 p.m. \n\n\n\nThe retreat will begin at 9 a.m.\, Friday\, September 26\, and conclude at 11 a.m.\, September 28. \n\n\n\nCost for a tent camper is $300\, while cost for a shared cabin (which includes a private room and shared bathroom) is $400. Cost for a room in Woodhaven (which includes a private room and bathroom) is $475 and cost for commuters is $250. \n\n\n\nWe want all to have access to retreat spaces. If the cost is prohibitive\, ask about equity prices. Please let us know of any other accommodations you may need in order to participate as fully as possible.

SUMMARY:Racial and Ecological Documentary: Inhabitants
DESCRIPTION:Join the Land Justice Futures (formally Nuns & Nones) Focus Communities* to view two special film screenings hosted exclusively for Land Justice Futures communities. Inhabitants is an incredible documentary that lifts up why ecological and racial healing are intimately and necessarily intertwined. The film will be screened twice on two separate dates. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis feature documentary follows five Native American tribes across deserts\, coastlines\, forests\, and prairies in the United States as they restore their traditional land management practices. Find out why Indigenous people – who make up only 5% of the world’s population – are stewards of 80% of the world’s biodiversity. \n\n\n\n* The Land Justice Future’s Focus Community Program is a community of practice for women religious who are ready to create bold\, just\, and creative plans for the lands they love. Starting with a 2-year cohort experience\, this program builds power\, connection\, imagination\, and practical know-how among communities while they build land justice into the heart of their property plans.  \n\n\n\nYou can learn more about the documentary here

DESCRIPTION:Join the Land Justice Futures (formally Nuns & Nones) Focus Communities* to view two special film screenings hosted exclusively for Land Justice Futures communities. Farming While Black is an incredible documentary that lifts up why ecological and racial healing are intimately and necessarily intertwined. The film will be screened twice on two separate dates.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis feature film is about the rising generation of young black farmers. Join Leah Penniman\, co-founder of Soul Fire Farm\, who reflects on the plight of Black farmers in the United States\, from the height of Black-owned farms at 14 percent in 1910 to less than 2 percent today.
