You Can Jam That!

Making your own jam is easier than you think and does not require a mountain of fruit. Learn the basics of making jam, the role of pectins and sugars, how to modify recipes to your own taste, and how to process jam in a water bath.

Cost is $40 per person which includes course handout, materials, and a jar of jam to take home. Please register by Aug. 23.

Note: The Center is home to two cats and although they may not be present for the workshop, if you are highly allergic, please use caution.

Candace Minster is the garden manager and fiber projects coordinator for White Violet Center for Eco-Justice where she has been employed for more than 15 years. Her areas of expertise include organic gardening, worm composting, food preservation (canning, fermentation, pickling),  fiber arts (knitting, spinning and weaving) and fiber processing.
