Stories of Human Trafficking performance and discussion

January 23, 2021 at 4:00 pm - 6:30 pm EST

Open for registration. Registration deadline: January 19, 2021.

Single women ages 18-42 are invited to join the Illinois Women Against Human Trafficking and the Sisters of Providence of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods for a virtual performance of “The True Costs: Stories of Human Trafficking.” This production, written by Jenny Magnus and performed by Still Point Theatre Collective, gives voice to forgotten ones: people forced into sexual servitude, children exploited for slave labor and adults lured into domestic labor that turns out to be entrapment.

Sister Barbara Sheehan, SP

After the production, participants are invited to a post-show panel discussion with local experts and activists. Following that we will have time for Questions and Answers with our own Sister Barbara Sheehan, SP, a member of the sponsoring group who has been teaching for awareness and advocating for the end to human trafficking for more than 15 years.

We hope you can join us as we all learn and become better advocates for victims whose voices have been silenced.

Space is limited, so sign up today.
