The Providence Community: Sisters of Providence, Providence Associates and Providence Associate candidates, guests and friends are invited to Saint Mary-of-the-Woods March 8-10, 2019, to attend the upcoming Providence Associate spring retreat. Sister Dianne Bergant, C.S.A. will present on:

Community of Earth: How Do We Understand Our Common Home?

Our Providence spirituality calls us to grapple with the negative impact humans have on our Earth. We are aware of the continuing results of climate change. Many of us are responding as best we can to steer away from our harmful actions. On this retreat, we will have the opportunity to consider the spiritual aspect of eco-justice in our community of Earth.

  • How do we ground ourselves spiritually in light of our challenges?
  • What do we hear as we sit in silence listening to the voice of Providence?
  • What questions arise within us that will propel us to seek answers?

Our retreat time will include retreat sessions, quiet time, Liturgy, fellowship and a viewing of “Pope Francis: A Man of his Word” that highlights the pope’s concern for Earth. We suggest you bring a journal to record your thoughts during the weekend.

Cost: $65 per person which includes Friday check-in reception with snacks, continental breakfast, dinner and light supper on Saturday and continental breakfast on Sunday. Cost for Sisters of Providence to attend is $40. Those not able to attend in person may attend the Saturday morning and afternoon sessions via livestream. Cost for this access is $20.

Presenter: Sister Dianne Bergant, C.S.A.
