People have difficulty holding a conversation with persons whose opinions differ from their own. At a time when civil discourse seems a lost art, this workshop explores how to listen, to hear, and to learn from each other with genuine respect. Examine how our world views are formed, what helps us change them, and how we can expand our capacity to hear other opinions.

Registration fee $45 includes lunch.

Sister Marie McCarthy, SP

Sister Marie McCarthy, SP, has spent many years as an educator - first in the field of music, then in the interface between psychology, theology, and the arts. Sister Marie served on the faculty of Catholic Theological Union in Chicago and the clinical and training faculty of the Center for Religion and Psychotherapy of Chicago before being elected to leadership within her Congregation. Following a sabbatical in 2012, she accepted the position of Associate Director of Programs for the Leadership Conference of Women Religious. Sister Marie has a passion for fostering human flourishing in all whom she encounters.
