June 21, 2009: 12th Sunday in Ordinary Time
When evening had come, Jesus said to his disciples, “Let us go across to the other side.” Leaving the crowd, they took him with them in the boat, just as he was. Other boats were with him. A great storm of wind arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so that the boat was…

June 14, 2009: Feast of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ
While they were eating, Jesus took bread, said the blessing, broke it, gave it to them, and said, “Take it; this is my body.” Then he took a cup, gave thanks, and gave it to them, and they all drank from it. He said to them, “This is my blood…which will be shed for many.”…

June 7, 2009: Feast of the Most Holy Trinity
Jesus said to his disciples, “Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.” (Matthew 28:19) In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. This is surely the shortest and probably the…

May 31, 2009: Feast of Pentecost
No one can say “Jesus is Lord” except by the Holy Spirit. Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of service but the same Lord; and there are varieties of working, but it is the same God who inspires them all in everyone. To each is given the…

May 24, 2009: 7th Sunday of Easter
The Ascension of the Lord Jesus said to his disciples: “Go into the whole world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.” (Mark 16:15) As we know, Jesus did not remain on the earth in human form. After the resurrection, he returned to heaven. Before leaving earth he assured his disciples, including us, that…

May 17, 2009: 6th Sunday of Easter
Jesus said to his disciples: “As the Father loves me, so I also love you. Remain in my love. If you keep my commandments, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and remain in his love. I have told you this so that my joy may be in…

May 10, 2009: 5th Sunday of Easter
When Saul arrived in Jerusalem he tried to join the disciples, but they were all afraid of him, not believing that he was a disciple. Then Barnabas took charge of him and brought him to the apostles, and he reported to them how Paul had seen the Lord, who had spoken to him, and how…

May 3, 2009: 4th Sunday of Easter
See what love God has given us that we should be called children of God; and that is what we are. …Beloved, we are God’s children now; what we will be has not yet been revealed. What we do know is this: when Jesus appears, we will be like him, for we shall see him…

April 26, 2009: 3rd Sunday of Easter
The two companions of Jesus told the others about what had happened on the road to Emmaus, and how he was known to them in the breaking of the bread. As they were saying this, Jesus himself stood among them. But they were startled and frightened, and supposed that they saw a spirit. He said…

April 19, 2009: 2nd Sunday of Easter
Those who believed were of one heart and one mind. They did not claim ownership of their possessions but had everything in common. With great power the apostles gave their testimony to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and great grace was upon them all. There was not a needy person among them, for as…

April 12, 2009: Easter Sunday
Peter opened his mouth and said, “I believe you know the word which was proclaimed throughout all Judea, beginning from Galilee after the baptism which John preached: how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power; how Jesus went about doing good and healing all that were oppressed by the devil,…

April 5, 2009: Palm Sunday
Christ Jesus, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, being born in human likeness. And being found in human form he humbled himself and became obedient unto death, even death on a cross. (Philippians…
