Sisters to host ‘Sauntering with a Saint’

Join Sister Jan Craven, SP, for “Sauntering with a Saint,” from 9:30-11:30 a.m., on Wednesday, June 16. Participants will meet in the Foley Room at Providence Spirituality & Conference Center at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, Indiana.

Stroll through the Woods and enjoy learning little-known facts about the Congregation’s foundress, Saint Mother Theodore Guerin.

“This will be a walking tour,” Sister Jan said. “We will be both inside and out. We will stroll over to the Shrine of Saint Mother Theodore Guerin, the bronze statue of her near the Church of the Immaculate Conception, visit the Log Cabin, Shell Chapel and cemetery.”

Sister Jan said she hopes those attending will deepen their appreciation of Saint Mother Theodore Guerin and her struggles and joys while enjoying the beautiful surroundings of the Woods.

“I will describe her relationships with Mother Mary in France, Bishop Hailandiere, Sister Francis Xavier and the many business people she knew in Terre Haute,” Sister Jan said.

Cost is $10 person. The registration deadline is June 13.
