December 28, 2014: Feast of the Holy Family

January birthday partyWhen the days were completed for their purification
according to the law of Moses,
they took him up to Jerusalem
to present him to the Lord.

When they had fulfilled all the prescriptions
of the law of the Lord,
they returned to Galilee,
to their own town of Nazareth.
The child grew and became strong, filled with wisdom;
and the favor of God was upon him. (Luke 2:22, 39-40)

Reflection:

Mary, Joseph and their son Jesus were simple folks, living in a small village called Nazareth. Joseph was a carpenter and Mary managed the household. The child learned by observing them and he grew in wisdom.

Action:

Plan some family time together this week. Sit down to a meal around the table sharing stories of your day. Afterwards enjoy something together: a board game like monopoly, a movie and popcorn or a game of cards.
