August 7, 2011: 19th Sunday in Ordinary Time

Be assured that Jesus will be with you no matter what the scary situation is.

When the disciples saw Jesus walking on the sea, they were terrified, saying, “It is a ghost!” And they cried out in fear.
But immediately Jesus spoke to them and said, “Take heart, it is I; do not be afraid.”
(Matthew 14:26-27)

“Do not be afraid.” Jesus says that many times in the gospels.
Things happen that can be frightening. What scares you?
Jesus assures you that he is with you.
You have nothing to fear.

Action:

The next time you are afraid, ask Jesus for help.
Be assured that he will be with you no matter what the scary situation is. Put your trust in Jesus.
