May 22, 2011: 5th Sunday of Easter

Are you following Jesus? Do others recognize you as a Christian?

Jesus said to Thomas, “I am the way, the truth, and the life.
No one comes to the Father except through me.
If you know me, you will know my Father also.” (John 14:6-7 )

“I am the way, the truth, and the life.”
This sums up everything about Jesus in one short sentence.
We cannot go wrong if we follow Jesus, if we read and listen to his words in the Scriptures, and if we live as he teaches us to live.
Jesus gave his life for us.
We cannot begin to do all that he did, but we can give of ourselves to others.
Every day we have opportunities to live for others instead of being selfishly caught up in ourselves.

Action:

Take a few moments as you begin each day this week to pray to Jesus.
Think about your behavior. Do others recognize you as a Christian? Can they tell from your actions that you are a disciple of Jesus?
Ask Jesus to show you the way.
