April 24, 2011: Easter Sunday

Happy Easter!

Now on the first day of the week Mary Magdalene came to the tomb early, while it was still dark, and saw that the stone had been taken away from the tomb.
So she ran, and went to Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one whom Jesus loved, and said to them,
“They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we do not know where they have laid him.”
(John 20:1-2 )

Happy Easter!
Now that we’ve completed our Lenten journey, we get to celebrate for 50 days! Yes, Easter is 50 days long!
Today is Easter Sunday and every day that follows is an Easter day until the Feast of Pentecost.
We are blessed because we know the rest of today’s Gospel story. Unlike Mary Magdalene and the other disciples, we know Jesus has been raised from the dead. As you hunt eggs, eat a delicious meal and candy, remember that we are celebrating the Resurrection of Jesus.

Action:

Today is a day of celebration.
Celebrate with your family.
