Saint Mother Theodore Guerin founded the Sisters of Providence of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, Indiana in 1840. Throughout the past 169 years, buildings have been demolished, new ones built, and old ones renovated. Of course, there are many more buildings to be maintained now than in Saint Mother Theodore’s time.
Additionally, as the Sisters of Providence continue to address the needs of the underserved and marginalized, providing education, health assistance and spiritual guidance, many new and exciting projects and programs arise.
Periodically, then, the Sisters of Providence identify buildings at the motherhouse that need special maintenance and special projects and programs that need funding.
