Are you a Catholic woman who is curious about religious life today? Are you looking for a way to serve others, grow in your faith and help heal the planet? Would you like the opportunity to meet Catholic sisters and learn about their prayer, community and ministry life? If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, please consider attending our “Come and See” events to learn more about the Sisters of Providence life and mission.
The “Come and See” weekend, held at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, Ind., offers single, Catholic women ages 18-42 a supportive, non-threatening introduction into the life of religious sisters. You will meet and spend time with Sisters of Providence. You’ll have time for personal and communal prayer, Eucharistic Adoration, hear experiences from Sisters of Providence and get to know Saint Mother Theodore Guerin, the foundress of the Sisters of Providence who was canonized the 8th U.S. saint in 2006. Contact Sister Editha Ben at 800-860-1840 ext. 2895 or Sister Nancy Nolan at 812-870-9884 for details about upcoming events.
Each year, there is also a “Come and See” day in California. Contact Sister Jeanette Lucinio at 858-490-8289 or Sister Marilu Covani at 909-475-5336 for more information. There is no cost to attend these events. Housing and meals are provided.
Here’s what a few past participants have said about the weekend:
- “I felt everyone involved was very open and genuine during discussions. They were easy to talk to.”
- “The small group discussions were very helpful. I also very much enjoyed the conversation with the sisters in formation.”
- “Putting my experiences and process into words helps me continue to discern and reflect on my ongoing process.”
Feel free to contact Sister Editha Ben, vocations director at 800-860-1840, ext. 2895 or email her at firstname.lastname@example.org.
