Upon completion of the mission novice year, women profess vows of poverty, chastity and obedience.

Temporary profession is a period of three to six years during which women continue the journey of initial formation as a Sister of Providence.

In addition to continuing in ministry, these temporarily professed sisters will:
• develop a personal plan for growth and development in religious life
• attend regular meetings with an SP mentor
• participate in Congregation events and activities
• complete annual evaluations; and renew profession of vows
