Congregation blessed to welcome new members

The Sisters of Providence of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods continue to welcome new women into the Congregation. Women say they are attracted to the mission of the Sisters of Providence that includes “committing themselves to performing works of love, mercy and and justice in service among God’s people.”

Whether at first vows, renewal of vows or perpetual vows, the Sisters of Providence profess vows according to the following:

“Almighty and eternal God, wishing to consecrate myself to your service, under the special protection of Jesus, Mary and Joseph, of my full and deliberate will, I take the vows of poverty, chastity and obedience according to the Constitutions approved by the Holy See for this Congregation of the Sisters of Providence. Grant me, O my God, the grace to be faithful to them until death. Amen.”

From left, Sisters Deborah Campbell, Laura Parker, Patty Wallace and Beth Wright are shown taking perpetual vows in 2013. Each serves in a ministry among God’s people, where the need is greatest.
